    Compensation Culture

This is getting completely out of control, every other daytime TV ad is for claiming for an accident you have had a trip a slip[ a fall at work etc etc. Ok, so you dont have a job, but if you have even tripped up, we can sue the ass of the council for having a paving slab wonky.

"I tripped over my own foot as im a total buffoon, I broke my arm and got £20,000 compensation when I called the National Accident helpline"

FUCK OFF, you are a victim of your own stupidity why the fuck should you be claiming money from your emplyer when you are the idiot.

Fair enough, the safety guard might have been off the saw, BUT YOU ARE THE ONE WHO USED IT ARE YOU NOT?

Ok, you may have been given the wrong ladder, BUT YOU CLIMBED IT KNOWING IT WAS WRONG.

Surely if people had more common sense about things there would not be this growin culture of claiming compensation for everything that happens.

It is a shocking abuse of morality in the vast majority of cases.

There are some exeptions to the rule however, some people who have been genuinely injured through no fault of thier own and are now unable to work because of that, deserve compensation.

But the twats who abuse this system, wreck it for the genuine people.

I totally agree. I think the worst I read was a woman trying to take the owners of the Metro (as in train/underground, not the paper) to court. Her husband had died after being electrocuted whilst trying to steal the overhead wires. She said there should have been a warning notice up.

That is nothing in comparison to some of the ones you hear about from America that people have actually been paid out for. Cant be bothered to list any examples but theres loads if you search for them.

Some of them are ridiculous, but you have to look at it this way.
if you were at work and you slipped on a wet patch, fell down some stairs and you were paralysed for the rest of your life, had to quit your job, you would want money for it! i dont really see that as your own stupidity, but most people do take the piss!
    for example......AMERICA

That is a genuine case. But a fair amount of time it seems to be down to absolute stupidity on the part of the claimant.

It takes the piss that theyve started putting that stuff at the end of the adverts to make it sound like they have changed the workplace for the better as well.

"I won £5000, and they have now put a bin there for the plastic strappings to stop people tripping over them in future"

As if any of them give the slightest fuck about the safety aspect. All theyre in it for is the cash.

This and credit card/loan culture pisses me off. The slimey, reptilian corporate scum. Fair enough - its your own fault if your debt spirals out of control but still, it doesnt help with these misleading adverts rammed down our throats 24/7. Phone calls, junk letters, billboards and tv adverts. Everywhere you turn its there!

I think it's a good thing. People should be more aware of their legal rights.

I wonder how many of the people whinging in this thread have recently contacted their bank to get 6yrs of illegal charges refunded??? It's tantamount to the same thing.
