Codexs/Codecs However u spell em.. What are they, coz i need one to watch a movie, and when Windows media player opens up, it says downloading codec thingy..then says error downloading.. Is there anywhere i can just download it and keep it for ever, instead of windows media getting it?
codec is basically extra instructions fr the media player in order to allow it to decode the movie format into summit it understands.... what format u tryin to watch m8? just search for 'x coded download' on google etc.... x bein type u need divx, xvid, svcd etc........
If you download the DIVX Bundle 5.2, run this, you should be able to play .AVI and .DIVX files. You can get this from any download site or porn site. It includes a media player that plays .AVI files. Also, Real Player 8 will play .AVI files, again you may need to download extra codecs but you can do this through the Help option in Real Player.
The nimo codec pack is probably better for a one-off download becaus eit has loads of different CODECS which it installs. Its all ive ever needed. http://www.divx-digest.com/software/nimo_pack.html its about 6 meg or something, but worth it, even for 56k people
