With this being our first milestone in our new podcast format, (although Clubbed Up has been running for nearly 9 years!) we had to make sure this show is a special one, and with it we bring two extra special mixes by two talented individuals!

Presenting our special guest DJ for this week… John Acquaviva

With 17 years in the music industry, John Acquaviva has played over 5000 gigs to over 2 million people. His accolades are beyond impressive with his international career launching in 1989 with Richie Hawtin by founding one of the world's best known and influential techno labels, Plus 8 Records. In 1993, Acquaviva and Hawtin also founded Definitive Recordings and are considered one of the most inspiring labels of the musics history. John was one of the first people to take notice and embrace electronic music’s digital future at the dawn of 2000 by championing Final Scratch. And following that success, John took another enormous step to help launch Beatport.com, the biggest dance-music download site in the world. His productions are forever in the charts and championed by DJs globally from many different fields, making John Acquaviva a true legend to the electronic music world.

After a hugely successful CD of the Week on the previous show, we re-ignite that feature with a flaming hot mix from Luke Solomon.

Luke Solomon has been a fundamental part of the dance scene for over a decade now and his contribution over the years has been nothing short of phenomenal. Now in 2008, his sound is still evolving and his bizarre take on the new underground house sound is very exciting, a master of the groove and never afraid of a risk, his latest productions are arguably his finest work to date. Luke’s solo productions have seen releases on Crosstown Rebels, Gallery, Icon, Cajual and Rekids with whom released his solo album 'The Difference Engine' in January 2008. He also has a monthly residency at AKA called Little Creatures and Moxa Club in Mantova, Italy.

The shows hosts Danny Roberts and James Burn will be guiding you through the 90 minute show and providing you with the latest “in-club” news and listings guide for the forthcoming weekend. If your interested in playing on future Clubbed Up shows then listen for further information.
