    Club vs Country Malarky

Whats everyones views on it? Shocking how many players are out tonight who will be playing at the weekend again. Its understandable but also unacceptable from the clubs point of view in my opinion. More or less a B team out tonight. :( 3 - 1 Germany my bet.

to be fair its only a friendly and giving some of the fringe player a run out can only be a good thing in my eyes. agbonglahor, young, bent playing well will make others only play better. healthy competition never hurt anyone

in the case of friendies i feel club managers should have a say on the involvement of their players, such as reccomendations and requests (not the final say however) esp if a player is carrying a slight injury or returning from a longer term one.

but in competitive fixtures ANY player should be available at ANY time to the national coach, regardless of league and european competition at a similar point of the season.

lets face it being called up the national team even if its just the sqaud, is going to do a players confidence the world of good upon returning to their club anyway

You wouldn't be saying that if you were up near the top of the league and one of your star players got injured whilst away of international duty. Being a mackem though, I can't really see you emphasizing with my point
