claiming on insurance for a tv? being a bit of a tit ive smashed the screen on my tv. Its about 2 years old now but still pretty decent. Whats the insurance likely to do pay out for a new tv of similar value or repair the tv? Im obviously hoping they give me the money so i could get a newer and better tv. I knacked mine earlier this year, I paid 700 for the tell about two years before, I paid 50 quid excess and they sent me a voucher for £550 to spend at dixons on a new one, I had to get a telly fixer bloke to come and look at it to confirm it was proper fucked coincidentally my mam also knacked her identical telly a few weeks later and she had a right fuck on, had to take photos of the screen/the stand from loads of different angles but she got a new one eventually but the insurance company picked it for her and sent it out
i think it depends on your insurer mate. i dropped my laptop and claimed off the house insurance (Northern Rock insurance) and had a replacement with the same spec. within 14 days so that was quite good. i have heard that other companies take the piss though and TV's have updated far more in that last 2 years so am not sure what sort of spec. replacement you would get
would just be claiming off the house insurance. And no it didnt accidentally fall off the stand lol something else accidentally fell onto the tv lol.......im gutted getting sky hd installed on thursday too ol so say i paid like 800quid for it 2 years ago the insurance company wouldnt pay 800 out saying that is the value of the tv?? They would check the specs of the telly and give you enough for one the same spec cos for 800 quid now you'll get alot better telly than 2 years ago, my old one was a 720p and my new one is a 1080p but the new one cost £100 less
what would happen if i told them the truth? i took it off the stand whilst moving stuff about and something got dropped on it cos im a dick? They would still psy out wouldnt they? Posted via Mobile Device
a little satelitte speaker! Was moving everything around in the bedroom so put tv onto bed and when moving a speaker dropped it and then it bounced off chest of draws and onto the tv. Hopefully they will get me either the same tv or another decent one like. No argos specials lol Posted via Mobile Device
