noone cares about crasher now, people have finally realised what the promoters are like and show as much interest in the club as they show for the punters, they might fill the club but what else do you expect when you put one event on every 2/3 months :)

North of the thames, it seems like all promotors can make money from is either trance 'classics' which have people lining up to relive the times they had at Gatecrasher/Gods/Cream, and for those that never went - to experience what they THINK it might have been like .

..... Or variations on Goodgrief with Eddie H usually headlining.

I dont want to rag on anyones memories - but i hope Gatecrasher dies a death eventually, it sums up pretty much everything bad about clubbing - money grabbing, hype driven, music ignoring, mainstream appeasement. Everybody likes a good night out - but surely clubbing isnt about a glorified circus with music in the background. surely?

And maybe that sounds harsh on someones thread - but this aint no 'whats on' forum.

Well I might go to this, unfortunately i was too young when the 'glory days' were around, so why don't you people fantastic people who were great enough to attend the original and the best events SHUT THE HELL UP and let the rest of us get on with enjoying what will be a great night of trance. You've had your turn now we're having ours, if you dont think its as good now then thats fine, be appreciative of the fact you could go to the events when they were happening and stop ranting on about how $hit it is now!!!!!!!!!

    >note this is not necessarily directed towards people in this thread, more generally to everyone who makes snide comments whenever the word 'classics' is mentioned on message boards!

why the fuck would you wanna pay that much to go listen to the same songs over and over again tho, who cares about the past glory days look forward not back, unfortunately crashers stuck in a timewarp by the looks of things.

    Who deserves your money more?

Hard working promotors who put on nights and hire DJ's that benefit clubland

..... or a few ultra rich promotors who know that a good way to make money is to take a money making machine like the crasher name.... hire a few cheaper DJ's and know that they will have loads of people who THINK they missed the boat the first time around ...... lining up at the door ready to hand over 22+ quid.

Theres a limited amount of money to go around and support good clubs and the like - Why not support those instead. Ill take a group of friends and a nice atmosphere over a load of pushy, snobbish 'stand staring straight ahead' modern day crasher fans any day.

Went to my first classics night at Crasher in Sheffield a couple of months ago, didn't rate the set or the club.
