    Chopra for Sunderland?

Supposedly we are in talks and a 5m bid has been accepted ??!?!

he had a shit hot season last year, but i really don't think he's worth 5 mil, esp when we'll have to sell him next year after he's photographed in a SMB t shirt

    skunks thoughts on chopra ?

i'm gutted , not because of chopra but because of the lack of 'known' half decent players keane has failed to attract.

He couldnt hack it at Newcastle and to be honest he has done really well since he left.

It will be interesting cos i didnt really class him as a Premiership player either, is the 5m that clause he has?

You's wanna be going for someone a bit more proven really, Derby Day will be even more livelier now

Yeah, the 5mil was a buy out clause

Exactly my thoughts mate, we need proven experienced players. So far we have managed to bag a bloke who couldn't get a game for reading and a scotsman.

I used to work with his dad in northern rock sorting post. Surely if his son is a footballer his dad wont have to work for £6 an hour sorting post.

it's a decent signing but in no way is he worth 5 million. It'll be intresting to see if he can cut it as a premiership player.

    "Michael Chopra is a geordie,
    He wears a Sunderland top,
    His family are all geordies,
    They own a corner shop,
    We know where hes from,
And we dont give a toss,
'Cos now he plays for Sunderland,
And Roy Keane is his boss"

He will turn out to be a quality and very shrewd signing imo, regardless of where hes from. He said from day one he would give 110% for sunderland in every game and hes done exactly that so far this season, and the fans have took to him because of this.

Looking forward to seeing him & Kenwyne up top together on saturday
