pros: Millions of games for £3 a shot, Built in Emulators inc Amiga, Spectrum etc etc (this came with my chip, not sure if its the norm)

cons: You will be banned from xBox live & SOME games are slightyl unstable (My Pro-Evo locks up a lot, not sure if this is a chip or software issue tho)

Expect to pay £50 all in. I know a man that can hes based in Killy.

I have two xBox's, one chipped and one not. You can get hold of a second hand one for £40 if you catch a smack heed on the right day...

You could just buy a chip and fit it yourself- really easy yo do and will cost you less than £20 for an X-ecutor which is pretty much the best one going.

i will keep that in mind.

i chipped my playsaytion a while back and it broke after 2 years, i really dont want to break my x box in a similar way,if it breaks they send an engineer out to fix it and they will know its been chipped.

what happened to the station? stop reading disks? it was probably just your laser. Early (version 5 and earlier) had really weak lasers in that would pack up. Most PS2's that were first bought , version 3, the first ones that came in bulk into the shops all had the same problem. u can get a new laser for £30 - £40 - fit it yourself. What chip did u fit?

i've went from a Neo 2 to a Neo 2.2 then to a Messiah 2 Pro. New laser - still working a treat now - plays owt. Fancying a xbox mind....

    Thought i'd resurrect this :p

I have just ordered Swap Magic for my PS2, and is a great tool for solder noobs like me, and for those that dont want to take ur playstation to bits!!

It's a disc swap tool, you use this little slide tool to release the drawer (to keep power), stick your game in, then use the slider to close the drawer again!

Bit of a fanny to fit, but once its done its fine. Can be had for arond £20!

    Works great too

Anybody fancy 'loaning' me some 'backups'? Evaluation purposes only of course.

Now to get my XBox done! I dont want to touch it myself, need someone to do it for me.....:D

honestly m8, xbox is a piece of piss to chip- way easier than ps2.
it's about as easy as you can get (apart from the gamecube).

Even if u never held a soldering iron, after about 5 mins practice, u s hould be able to do it

Also, if ur ps2 laser packs in, u can fit a pc hd to the ps2 too. probably cheaper than replacing the lazer and the load times are vastly improved
