Chems 5hr DJ set, Turnmills Dec 14th

    *drools*

    Anyone fancy this???

    The Chemical Brothers Present Glint
    Saturday 14th December 02

The Chemical Brothers return to the decks on Saturday 14th December for Glint - the latest installment in a series of one-off parties thrown by the band over the last couple of years. This time Glint will be held at Turnmills, the home of their old Heavenly Social residency. Recently back from a world tour and busy working on new music, Tom and the newly-wed Ed will be leaving the studio for the night to host the club and play an extra-long DJ set.

"We're treating it as our Christmas party and it's at a venue we love with a line-up of our favourite DJ's on board for the night. We're really looking forward to playing some new stuff and getting stuck in".

If previous Glint's are anything to go by, it is likely that those attending will also be treated to early airings of Chemical Brothers' 'work-in-progress'.

Glint was created as a chance to do something different from the usual two hour club set. Tom and Ed promoted the parties themselves and held them in the basement of a West London tapas bar which had been decked-out for the night with a strobe light, dry-ice machine and bass bins. This time around, the idea is to do the same thing but on a slightly grander scale in the much larger basement that is Turnmills - East London institution and for the band, scene of many a lost weekend during the Social reign in the late '90's.

Glint will see The Chemical Brothers joined for the night by one of their early inspirations, Justin Robertson, who will be playing a special set in the 2nd Room with fellow Manc, Moonboots - the man who first met Tom and Ed whilst working behind the counter of Eastern Bloc. Long-term Chemical Brothers collaborators and purveyors of the world's finest psychedelic visuals, Vegetable Vision, will take control of the 3rd Room while in the main room, DJ support will be supplied by Glint resident Nathan Detroit.

dunno bout a re-match wi the Kremlin, but the trip to the Dam was a major highlight of a brill (clubbing) summer.

These are a real pain to organise as ppl keep dropping out, but if enough were interested, I'd do it. Wud involve everyone paying non-refundable deposits cos no-way I'm paying for flights and hotels for someone who don't end up going.

Dunc, when you at Promise next?
