Championship Manager 5... Publishers Eidos interactive have split with Championship Manager series developer Sports Interactive. Championship Manager is, simply, the king of football management games, with massive sales, citations from professional footballers and managers by the (magic sponge) bucket load and a huge army of fiercely brand-loyal devotees behind it. So imagine the ructions and confusion when publishers Eidos and developers Sports Interactive split last year, with Eidos keeping the all-important brand name and SI keeping the, um, also all-important engine, including the legendarily meticulous and complex real-life stats that drive the whole, life-devouring experience. Today Eidos have revealed the internal development team charged with the weighty responsibility of carrying the brand forward by producing Champ Man 5. Meanwhile, Sports Interactive will shortly be unveiling the new brand name charged with the weighty responsibility of carrying the game engine forward. Beautiful Game Studios, Eidos' new internal development team of 30 staff, are building CM5 using an as-yet unnamed agency 'that provides player info and statistics to professional football clubs around the world'. the next championship manager wont be championship manager apparently SI are currently working on a hockey management game :spangled: and work is underway to make the 'new' championship manager, which will naturally be called something else because Eidos own the brand name now.
Gutted. End of an era for sure. To be fair, CM4 wasn't that good anyway tho. Not compared to previous versions anyway.
with further examination it appears that Sports Interactive are looking to sign to SEGA... an interesting move, thats for sure...
Stopped playing 03/04, found the tactics and training FAR to time consuming and tedious... on the ones before 4 you could make a decent traing regime, find a few decent tactics and build a decent team... the new one takes ages of twiddling and stopping and starting again, can't be arsed at the mo... mite start again in the summer when I have more time! Not sure bout the whole CM 5 thing... defo the end of an era... but ya never know with possibly two good manager games on the market it may increase competition and lead to far superior gaming!
get ur assaint mager to sort all the training out the newest one is class! jsut signed rivaldo for 3.1mill
I started class with boro with good tactics and a training regime that was working... got into UEFA cup and had decent cup runs... second season got sacked even tho I was still in Europe and only mid table :spangled: Got another job at Bournemouth but my heart wasn't in it so I left it! There are some mint youngsters on it tho and you can stick 'em in your under-19's team... I will get back into it sooner or later!
