If somebody had said to me at the beginning of the season that they thought Sunderland would go up, I'd have laughed in their face. I've been proven wrong quite badly!! A well deserved promotion!

Ain't that the truth. I went to the majority of the games the season they got relegated. As a Newcastle fan I probably shouldn't be admitting it, but what the hey. There just seemed to be a total lack of passion then, and a lot of players who weren't giving anywhere close to 100%. Haven't been to as many games this season, but the few I've been to...they've been a completely different team. I can remember times when they used to fall to bits after going 1-0 down, whereas this season I've seen them battle back to take something away from the game. All credit to Mick McCarthy as he's brought in some very decent young players with next to no money.
spot on mate! that season in the prem was a JOKE - as u say no1 was interested....waste of time...no spirit, no belief, no passion...nothing!!!! whata differencenow tho!!! as u say - we went 1 behind a while ago..heads wud drop, and we'd loose...now...we want the points more and we battle and most of the time turn it around and win it!! a lot better to watch!!! BUT.....i think every1 knows we MUST strengthen for next season or we'll be right back down!
Exactly! If anyone thinks for one minute that they could survive in the premier league with the squad they have, then they're a fool. I'm not suggesting major changes, but I'd reckon 3/4 quality signings are a must. Rumours were abound of Phillips re-joining the other week. Its a possibility, especially with the shit Southampton are in at present. John Stead's name has been mentioned again too...
Yup we need to basically invest the £20million we get from sky - straight into the team!!! Phillips wud be a good signing i think personally...not long term, but he cud help do a job to get us settled! John stead is mentioned all the time yeah....not too sure...cant make me mind up!

no sorry mate dont agree with that, we cant invest all the money we get from going up. we need some of the money to pay of debt and get the club back on a secure financial footing. obviously we have to strengthen the squad but we cant spend all of the money on players because the same will happen aas last time, spend moeny on players, get relagated n then sell the players at a reduced cost
