    cdj800/1000

i know theres been plenty of comparison thread but i want an opinion from someone whos used and abused both if possible. I want one to take advantage of the tricks etc, are their any tricks you can do with the 1000 that you cant do with the 800, im trying to weigh things up.
and before anyone says anything i know u can do more with the denon but tbh i want the industry standard player :)
    cheers

I've used both quite a bit and used to have cdj1000s- i'd just go for the 800s and save some money mate- the 1000s have 3 hout cue starts which can be used really well (james zabiea- alive) but i never really did anything with mine that couldn't be done on a 800.

The 0.02% pitch increment on +/- 6% is good but doesn't make that much of a difference really compared ot the 0.05 on the cdj800

the 800's are just as good as the 1000s, but as a 1000mk2 owner its nice knowing you CANT get any better - hehe :D

if u can afford the 1000's they are very nice and the 0.02% pitch adjustments i think are very useful. specially when mixing prog and other genres with long transitions

Agreed - i find i have to make pitch adjustments on my cdj1000 to compensate for my denon only being able to do 0.1% adjustments - this means changing the pitch on the live track which isnt perfect (but its un-noticable anyways). If the 800 is less accurate then thats not good.

    Good point tho.

    in my lil magic office....
    I know of a few DJ's who won't touch the 800's.

Hence why we had to get a 1000 for Vuzz.

    :D

Personally i reckon one pioneer is enough, a denon dns-1000 would be a stonking second cdj and is small enough to be transported around if need be.

the pitch on a dn-s1000 is only in increments of 0.1- that's a pretty big step compared to the high end denon/pioneer ones which are in 0.02
