    CD Decks

whats the best thing to go for.......

i really want a CD deck for bedroom use, aswell as for use playing out.

i keep getting told pioneer, but with my budget (£500) the best pioneer that i could get would be the CDJ 800, and im not convinced that that is the best choice.

these are some i have been looking at:

    Vestax CDX 05,
    Denon DNS 1000,
    Denon DNS 3000,
    Cirtronic CD S6,
    Pioneer CDJ 800.

    whats the best choice?

    cheers for any help :)

Denon DN-S3000. Better build quality, more features, does MP3 (i think). Moving platter, which is fucking awesome, but it can also be turned off to behave like a cdj. Trying them before you buy them is a must.

I have just bought 2 x Citronic CDS6 for home use - well impressed with them. :D was going to get CDJ 800s but these were packed with features. The effects are class - you can combine them to create CRRAAAZZY sounds and adjust the parameters of them etc.

The 4 bank sampler is good too. Obviously Pioneers are what you would be using while playing out, but for home use these are well good - I would recommend to anyone. Oh, and the jog wheel is good too - very responsive in vinyl or scratch mode. Basically they have more kit than the CDJ 800s and at about £300 quid a piece you can't go wrong mate. :cool2:

Go to Aitken electronics on High bridge street in the town - their prices are reasonable and the guys in there are spot on and dead helpful and if you have any probs they help you out with no q's asked. :p

The denon platter is very accurate, and although its a tiny bit slacker than say the 1000 if you were looking for scratch accuracy,.... for anyone who isnt - its irrelevanti dunno where you got that from....

Some people use a 'rubber band mod' to make it even tighter though, ive heard nothing comes close to the real vinyl feel once you do that.

On the other hand the denon platter doesnt weigh 3 tons (at a guess) like the pioneer's, allows you to scribble convincingly and generally feels sharper than its pioneer equivalent.
