Carr Am hearing strong rumours at our end (Spurs) that Stephen Carr will be heading up here within the week. I am disappointed but understand that maybe he needs a change as he has been at Spurs a long time and has gone a bit stale in the last 18 months. Back in 2001 he was the best right-back in the prem bar none. If you can get him back to that level you will have a fine player
Re: Carr That is the sticking point tbh. Robert teared him apart up here last season, and he doesn't do that to too many people! Good signing though, at least it will give us some options at the back which we really need atm!
Re: Re: Carr i was at that game. Robert scored 2 great goals but 1st half carr had him in his pocket 2nd half it was more to do with the shambles playing around him than his own defensive frailties. Carr is still a top defender, he just doesn't go on those mazy attacking runs he used to a few years back.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Carr aye! happy days mate that's what i mean - if he starts bombing forward like that again he will be mint for yous. I remember when we played the gooners at the lane once and he played as a wing-back against Pires and Silvihno and he had the 2 of them on the back foot all game
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Carr No doubting he is a really good footballer, remains to be seen if he can get back fully fit, and playing well again. Pretty much like what has happened with all our other signings, Bowyer, Kluivert, Butt!
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Carr indeed mate. Everyone outside the top 3 has to take gambles on players in the hope we can catch them up
Not particularly impressed - Carr's good, but we should've put every bit of effort into getting Miguel who IS quality.
Sweet. Was checking Sky but missed that update.. dunno how See mUrphy's been left out of champ league qualifier to give him mopre time to talk to your lot. Couldn't gurantee him regular football so Murphy asked to talk to other clubs. Can't blame him really, at 28 he needs to be kept busy.. beside, looks like Benny's playing on flooding the team with a canny few spaniards !
If he can get back to what he can be then we will have done a very good piece of business! Better paying 1.5 million for almost an British player, than paying over 5 million for another Portugesse player! He has never played here, unlike Carr, he could be totally shit for all us know in the Premiership. Good luck to Carr I say!
