Can you turn off Text Messages on your phone?

I dispise text messages and the pathetic ppl that send them. Why should I pay 10 pence to answer a question for you?

Can I request that my number rejects all text messages??!!? will the SP do this for me???

    Is it possible?????

Yeah it can be done, they don't advertise the fact though. Call their CS and ask to have MT/MO SMS removed. Wont cost you anything either

It'll send, you won't receive it, they'll be charged for it and be none the wiser... that's what happens to me anyways :(

nah it will just never get delivered.

they wont get charged for it. cos u only get charged when messages actually get delivered to destination phone.

they wont ever know u aint got it - unless they have delivery reports on and they will realise by that u aint received it

Not the case with Orange that sleepy, i texted a mates number (by accident) that had been disconnected, out of interest i checked my bill when i got it and there was a charge. I even got a 'failed' delivery report 7 days later aswell.

Orange charge you once it says 'sent' on your mobile, as long as the number is the correct length and resembles a mobile number ie 07812****** then the've got your 10p
