    Can you solve this?

    When I was born my aunt was 21 years old. At my next birthday my aunt will be four times as old as I will. How old will I be at my next birthday?? (4 marks)

    One of the children in my class is sitting an entrance exam....that's one of the questions on the maths paper! (she's only 10!!!)
    I'm being really and can't seem to work it out!! :dunce: Anyone good at problem solving??

    Am I right in thinking when the child is 0 the aunt is 21, so
    1yr = 22
    2 ys = 23
    3 yrs= 24 etc etc??

    Or is it just as simple that when the child is 11, the aunt will be 44 (as 44 is 4 times bigger than 11?), but then where does the 21 come into it!?

    My brain is frazzled!

    Come on Brid, MoS, Si, forks etc!!!!
