Can you set up your home router as a remote proxy? As above... I think i'm going to Japan in summer for a month or so but I am aware that stuff like Sky Anytime require you to be within the UK. Could I route my connection in Japan to my router at home, so that I could still access them?
Yep, that's hilarious..... actually my mate is working over there and i'd be staying with him for a month, so there will be times when I will be sitting around the apartment with nowt to do.
I know, but not all of the time. Theres only so much you can do on your own before getting pretty bored.
There's something depressing as fuck about going to one of, apparently, the most interesting countries in the world and not being able to entertain yourself for a month without the internet.
I plan to to a LOT of things while I am there. But I cant exactly be out 100% of the time for a month. I may be there for even longer than a month. But even so there will be times when I just want to watch a fucking film or a twatting sporting event on my bastarding sky anytime that i am sodding paying for while i'm away. Thus, giving my past "tightpockets" reputation, you can surely understand why I feel the need to make sporadic use of a paid service. so, how about an answer?
if your router can make use of VPN tunnels, just use that and set up a VPN to your home PC... then use that as the gateway onto the internet. Alternatively make one of your PCs public to the internet and whack a proxy script on it. I wouldn't go advertising it though as it's usually a breach of your terms & conditions of service with your ISP.
