CAn the SAS win the title again

Newcastle boss Graeme Souness wants to reunite Chris Sutton with former Blackburn team-mate Alan Shearer at St James' Park next season.

Sutton and Shearer were known as SAS during their prolific partnership at Ewood Park which led Rovers to the Premiership title.

And Toon chief Souness wants to reunite the strike pair after seeing his charges bag just 47 goals in 38 games last season, a statistic which was a major factor in them finishing 14th in the table.

Sutton is a good player. Versatile, and always adapts his game around who hes playing with.

But hes 32 and i wouldnt have thought hes what we need right now. I like to think we have higher ambitions.

To say hes not Prem class is stupid though. He could certainly do a good job for plenty of teams. I just think we need to aim higher (and younger).
