    Buying new pc speakers

I currently have creative 5.1 inspire speakers (non-digital) and they've let me down from day one really. The rear right speaker jack on the sub broke quite soon after I got the speakers and now the front right has done the same (only a very mild sound comes through now whereas the front left is much louder). Central speaker has never really 'worked' since i never play anything that is true 5.1.. just music although i can't ever remember any DVD's using it either.

I'm gonna get some more speakers this week but i dunno what to look for. I'd prefer a 2.1 setup that can handle higher sound outputs since i think excessive noise and high bass may be the reason that these ones have broken.

What should i look out for spec-wise when getting some new speakers. I understand that 'EXCELLENT 1200W SPEAKERS FOR £9.99!!!!11!!!!2!!!' isn't a actually a 1200w output - PMPO or something?

I'd like a set that will sound clear at high volume so any pointers are appreciated :)

    Thanks :)
