    Buying new equipment

When buying new mixers / decks obviously its better to try it out first. Most people seem to be in the agreement that Global DJ is s*it and doesn't have everything in anyway so mail order seems the only alternative but then you're just going off reviews and pictures. Want to try the new Denon DN S3000 CD deck but noone I know has got one. Any advice?

if your getting a CD deck, get a pioneer. dont get anything else. For that sort of money u can get a CDJ800/CDJ1000...

But it got a good review in DJ magazine this month. Has a rotating platter (so should be better for cueing and scratching) and plays MP3s. Can get 2 for about £1100

The Denon CD decks are shite. They look cheap and they are no where near as good as the Pioneer.

Go for the CDJ800 or even better, the CDJ 1000.

pioneer are standard for a reason. you will have NO problems at all cueing with a pioneer. u can scratch, it has a memory card, a digital display showing you the peaks and troughs in the tune. they are by far the best. but go and try one, u will see what i mean.

Have you ever used the new ones that have just come out. Playing MP3s would be a big factor for me

I havnt used the Denons but they have a 2 Denon's and 2 Pioneers in MOS and we had to end up getting the poineers changed over to the Poineers.

Like someone has already said, the pioneers have the wave form of the tune on a display so you can see excatly when the breaks and stuff are just like looking at the grooves on vinyl.

we use denon cd players at the nightclub i dj at, they spend more time fucked than out else, and they are actually quite well looked after, just break constantly and take so long for parts to be flown in, stay away from them, id personally go for pioneers, dog bollocks IMO
