BT to FINALLY offer FREE upgrades! Superb news!! BT Broadband customers are to have their lines upgraded to 2mb, for FREE! The upgrades will begin on the 17th Feb and will take approx 5 months for all services to be upgraded. Both existing 512k customers and 1mbit customers are to benefit from the upgrades. Those who subscribe to the 512k basic service will recieve an upgrade up to 1mb. Some lines may not be able to support the full 2mbit speed, but bt have vowed to offer the fastest service possible to each customer. I hope my exchange is an earlier one.... They say it brings us into an era of "superfast home broadband" To be fair, thats balls - we are way behind. South Korea and Japan, for example, get 40mbit!!! So still a way to go yet, but 2mbit sounds good
Wanadoo did this a while back- rip off really. Esp since talk talk to 1m no limit for 26 quid a month
They are the same as they are now though To be fair....30gb a month is more than I need so i'm not bothered by that, i'm pleased about the speed.
With BT? They are all limited, 30gb a month - but not enforced. Thats what the woman I spoke to told me when I last rang anyway
I see! Well I have eaten my own words...got a letter off BT...they say im getting a 15gb allowance based on average usage. Not so pleased about that....im not a hardcore downloader but id still like some lee way!
I'm with Freedom2Surf and I've never had an issue with them, no mention of the free 2mbit connection thing yet but i'm sure they'll twig on. We have unlimited downloads for £22.50 per month 512k.
ALL BT'S services have a usage limit bt bb basic 1 gig per mth bt bb classic 512 - 15 gig per mth bt yahoo 512 - 15 gig per mth bt bb classic 1 meg - 30 gig per mth bt yahoo 1 meg - 30 gig per mth as of january they are now being enforced...if you go over your usage limit you are charged £4 for every gig you go over
THE RIPPING BASTARDS. Basically, i'm gona give them a call, and ask why my limit has been halved. If they won't put it up, then Ill tell them ill go elsewhere.... Worked last time
I've just checked bt.com and that says the same for usage limits..i though that was the case but thought i'd best couble check since i ain't been there for a while!
