BT to FINALLY offer FREE upgrades!

    Superb news!!

BT Broadband customers are to have their lines upgraded to 2mb, for FREE!

The upgrades will begin on the 17th Feb and will take approx 5 months for all services to be upgraded.

Both existing 512k customers and 1mbit customers are to benefit from the upgrades. Those who subscribe to the 512k basic service will recieve an upgrade up to 1mb.

Some lines may not be able to support the full 2mbit speed, but bt have vowed to offer the fastest service possible to each customer.

I hope my exchange is an earlier one....

They say it brings us into an era of "superfast home broadband"

To be fair, thats balls - we are way behind. South Korea and Japan, for example, get 40mbit!!!

So still a way to go yet, but 2mbit sounds good

They are the same as they are now though

To be fair....30gb a month is more than I need so i'm not bothered by that, i'm pleased about the speed.

I've got no download limit. I'd prefer to keep it that way.

30gb isnt that much over a whole month.

    With BT?

They are all limited, 30gb a month - but not enforced.

Thats what the woman I spoke to told me when I last rang anyway

I'm with Freedom2Surf and I've never had an issue with them, no mention of the free 2mbit connection thing yet but i'm sure they'll twig on.

We have unlimited downloads for £22.50 per month 512k.

    THE RIPPING BASTARDS.

Basically, i'm gona give them a call, and ask why my limit has been halved.

If they won't put it up, then Ill tell them ill go elsewhere....
