bt phoneline

    bt phoneline

    im really puzzled because ive got up this morning ang my landline isnt working. it wont let me ring out or ring in, its just ringing dead. however its letting my broadband connect. can anyone shed any light on this??

    no :confused: my phone lines with bt, well its my mams phoneline, and my broadband is with aol. ive had it nearly a month now though, with no bother. its got me really baffled though, how the phoneline wont work but broadband will??

    i thought broadband used the phoneline, does it just bypass it in some way? im so confused :(

    no ive checked the phone, its ok. when i try to ring the housephone from my mobile its just ringing dead, making that horrible noise as if you've got a wrong number. im so confused :confused:

    Im a BT engineer your broadband is provided by AOL so that can work fine alone. (its fed by different equipment at the BT exchange)

    Likely to be a problem at the exchange end with the telephone line, basically just report the fault to BT they'll get onto it.

    Id imagine youve sorted it by now anyway

    BT have been doing quite a bit of work lately in Consett and have messed up quite a bit. I've been hearing from a load of people at work that they've had problems

    They knocked all the talk talk broadband off last week aswell :dunce:
