Ive got a 2 meg line and its utter shit.

The whole exchange is bogged down cause of over subscription and under capacity :(

37 quid a month (plus 10 quid BT line) and stuck in a contract :(

When they work properly though .... they are great :D

In London town, they have the local loop unbundling thing goin on .... which means other companies can install their own equipment on BT's exchanges

(apologies if this is something you already know)

So basically for about a year or so now, you could get 2mb through companies like Easynet or BulldogDSL (who im with) on their own networks which were served by BT.

But now i guess BT is doing the whole thing nationally now to compete.

Stay clear from BT - they are who is holding every1 else back!!

thats where you ar every wrong Bri! BT had th eideas & technology for broadband before any othe rcompany within the uk! they had to give all there plans to offtel who basically handed it to other companies...bt has more restrictions on them than any other company selling bb...

if bt behaved any where near as bad as th eother companies did we wud b shut down for it

it is wholesale that have said no to the trials so far & they don't work for bt!

pah - jus cos u work for em!

they had a monopoly on it all and refused to let pther ppl (who wanted to offer it better/cheaper) play the game.

so oftel stepped in and sorted it - gud on em

bt are still too expensive and dont offer as gud a deal as other providers. and the service isnt as good either. loads of the others miles better than bt

its not! i think they're a fucknig shit company to work for! they're clueless tbh!

oftel hand out the regulations...bt are forecd to have their prices as high as we do by oftel!

any other company can come along & slag bt off...bt can not do the same!

    cheaper isn't always better! :)

they're are plenty of people come to bt cos of problems with other companies! the reason its cheaper is cos oftel don't have as strict liscences with other companies cos they don't want bt to have the monopoly

I must defend BT on the basis of their service - I have had no bother with them and i get a 1mb connection for £29 a month, which is very competitive in all fairness.

However, I dont like the new plans they are proposing as it could drive smaller ISPs out of business.
