He totally had respect for each tribe he met and actually lived their way of life. Not just fucked off to the nearest 5* Hotel once the camera's stopped rolling. The episode where he was "initiated" and had to endure 3 days of full on hallucinating shows you how far he's willing to push himself to make a good impression on the tribe's people.
He used to be an SAS or Royal marine trainer. Im pretty sure he excelled higher than anyone of his age when he was doing it too. all round pretty top bloke!
