Well i have the 1mb a sec thingy, and the fastest speed i've had when downloading was about 74kbs:mad:

Anycase the fastest speed i ever got on dial up was about 5.5kbs which was a tenth of what was possible:confused:

But i suppose the speeds u can get vary from user 2 user, depending on what connection they have:)

I think you are confusing kilobits and kilobytes.

A 512k adsl is 512 kilo bits per sec, thats about 56 kilobytes per sec.

If your wondering how fast yours is try the speedtest. (Its handy if you think your connections buggered)

    http://www.adslguide.org.uk/tools/speedtest.asp

    Heres mine.....

Downstream 1922 Kbps / 2100 Kbps (inc. overheads)
Upstream 248 Kbps / 267 Kbps (inc. overheads)

(Ahh its great getting a years free 2mb line as part of your redundancy payoff!)

Also if you tell me what sharing software your using ill start mine up, only got 3gigs worth but got a few films as well, Daredevil etc.
