Broadband What does everyone reckon the best deal is? Or are they all much of a muchness? Are all the companies all the same in terms of performance / speed / reliability etc?
I've been on Blueyonder for for about one year now and have never had any problems with it, avarage download speed around 65KB. The email's always been fine to.
'Broadband' internet services is a wide basic term used to describe any 'high speed' connection over a 56K/IDSN. Make sure you know what you're getting. i.e. Tiscali 'Broadband' for £14.99 is only 128K or something - nowhere near the 512K. A BT engineer once said while installing Laz's BT ADSL that Telewest Blueyonder was a more reliable service with fewer drops in performance. i've got nowt like - i just use works!
Ive heard that about Blueyonder too. Im on BT, and I've never had any bother with drops or anything like that.....my modem packed in a while ago like but they sent me a new one and gave me a month free for the inconvenience! I would have got cable, but where I live there is no cable!!
cable's beter if you dont already have a phone line, because you dont need to pay the subscription costs associated with a phoneline, whcih you need for ADSL.
i'm going for bt broadband when it comes to my area next mth..tis only cos i get it for cheaps with free modem & activation ocs i work for them!!
Im on blueyonder its ok but im changing soon and just having broadband at my mums, i cant be arsed with telewest and just gonna go back to bt.
never had any problems with bt broadband here either with any of the pc`s on the home network and the playstation 2`s network adapter
