    British?

Do you class yourself as British any more?

Personally, I class myself as English, not British.

    Your view please... :)

technically if your born in english you should write you nationality like this "British (English)". There is officially no nationality called english its a subsiduary of the british nationality.

not to be padantic, but i don't like the way the irish are refered to as 'micks', in the poll the welsh are taffs, the irish are micks and the scotish are skirtboys, yet you refer to the english as 'english'.

    just a point.

to be fair have the english got a nickname?

"British" - to come from the British Isles- which is politically 3 islands...

Eire (Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland)
    Isle of Man
Great Britain (Scotland, England and Wales)

so you can be an Irish citizen yet still call yourself British..

    I'm English..

    :p

don't be a gimp, course you can't be Irish and British at the same time, not without dual nationality!

British means from "The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland" which doesn't include the Republic of Ireland

good point johnty, I was thinking the same.

btw..... this thread is shite, IMHO :D
