It's easy to get banned from the US like.. my mate got banned for 10 years just for being arrested a few times over here.

Who told you? Unless something has changed in the last 5 years and they now have a system than can instantly check a persons record for cautions from another country, then they have no way of knowing about your cautions unless you tell them. I was in the same boat but decided to just risk it and go anyway and I had no problems.

yeah it was simply advice off the travel agent bod. they dont have the ability to check your record at the minute, but if they did find out in some shape or form, they'd no doubt knock you back. havent the new biochip passports have your info on it? i've got an old one so i'm ok on that score. i know someone who's been knocked back from newark airport for his past convictions and they simply put him on a flight back which he had to pay for, sounded a nightmare!
I don't know about the new passports, but have never heard about them containing criminal records. Would make sense for big crimes etc, but doesn't seem like an efficient system to use for everyone in the country seeing as someone could commit a load of crimes after first recieving their new passport and customs would never know about it. Anyone know? Also, (unless the laws changed in the last 5 years) there's no expiry for cautions when you're talking about entering the USA. Whether you got one last week or got one 20 years ago makes no difference whether or not you need to apply for a visa. It no doubt comes into consideration when the decision to issue one is made, but it also depends on the reason the caution was given and from everything I've heard, anything relating to drugs does you no favours whatsoever. A trip to the US Embassy involves getting down to London (Or Glasgow I think), paying about £60 for the pleasure of their company, and then finding out whether you're allowed a visa, or whether you're banned from applying again (or entering the US) for the next 10 years like my m8.

fair play. however it shook me when i learnt my mate got knocked back and sent home i wasnt going to risk 2 grand on thinking americans are cunts and no nothing better. i suppose we're still a distance away from a different country having your background history, at least i think anyway like!
