Brilliant sum up of the game in the Star "MORE TOON TORMENT" "NEVER before can a dodgy penalty have been met with such relief and celebration than at Newcastle yesterday.. Referee Howard Webb's poor decision simply CONFIRMED the pressure Newcastle are under. Even before Shola Ameobi equalised, The Toon players where celebrating. When the ball went in, owner Mike Ashley reacted as if he had just found a buyer for the club"
surely if you're going to bring up biased media coverage you can do better than a paragraph of drivel written by uneducated morons, read by not much more than builders and dole scum? almost as bad as the bbc's interruption of an "unmissable" game with steven taylor's sending off in 2005...
Taylors was a farce, but then again we were duped out of a blatent penalty with Duff which also seen him yellow carded, so kinda justifies itself.
Ok then four eyes & chilli or garlic heres the Daily Express coverage> "Duff admits it was a dive" SUNDERLAND players claimed they had been robbed of a victory after Ameobis second-half penalty RESCUED a draw for Newcastle in a ill tempered Tyne Wear derby. Sunderland defender Danny Collins says his side feel cheated as TV REPLAYS suggest there had been minimal contact. Just minutes before the incident Damien Duff has been booked for DIVING and collins said "i accepted the penalty decision at the time as i couldnt really see it but i have just saw it again and Duff himself said to me THAT WAS A WORSE DIVE THAN MINE" Howard Webb is widely regarded as the best premiership referee and although his decision gave Newcastle a share of the spoils it extended their WINLESS RUN to eight matches"
Bollox, you quote the Sport then when rumbled claim to have page 61 of the Express open... take a picture of yourself with the paper, pipe optional?
All but one Newcastle fan at work, admitted the truth about the game today. The one who didnt was one of the idiots causing bother at central station
I quoted the Star then made a mockery of some stupid Geordies by quoting randomly from the other paper I had in the house. You now think its the Sunday Sport? I recommend you get some sleep mate
I never said that, I said you quoted the star then when rumbled (mocked) you decided to quote a more respectable paper... which I dont believe you can read.
hardly any better than the star! although i'll also admit that neither duff nor taylor's 'dives' were penalties, but what goes around comes around, and we were owed at least a couple of good decisions given the shocking refereeing pointed our way so far this season.
We should have had a spot kick against City, when Micah Richard hauled Taylor to the deck. He didnt dive then and got nowt...... football moves in circles
Every team has bad decisions against them. Just like wigan when they played you lot. you's managed to salvage a point against them for a dodgy sending off last year.
