Yeah i bought one of each :)

The denon is amazing, you can play two tracks at once - they have 2 separate outputs on the back. The Main track and the second (alpha track) both have their own independant pitch etc so you could theoretically do an entire set off just one unit!

The pioneer was a piece of piss to pick up ... took less than 10 minutes to feel comfortable with it.

The denon is sooooo complex right now, im sure ill pick it up soon enough but its overwhelming the amount of stuff you can do on it.

Gotta pick up a cheapo 3 channel mixer next... im bloody skint! :)

So you can toggle which of the two channels uses the pitch control cos it looks like theres only the 1 physical slider in the pic?? That could get a mite confusing but sounds like fun.

Yeah you can set whether the pitch sliders and stuff are controlling the main deck or the second track etc etc..

Sorry about the interrogation but I like to know the in's & oot's about clever gadgety things.
Does it need any time to read the alpha track into memory as a wav or whatever to free up the laser to read the master??

Nah, it doesnt have any issues - i think you can more or less get the alpha track up and running as you have the disc in and loaded... Doesnt have any delays or anything.

Another nifty feature is hot swapping... you hold down the eject button while the deck is playing, and it ejects the disc while still playing the tune from memory for 45 seconds... which gives you enough time to whack in a new disc, cue it up from the alpha track, then start playing!

Personally i would have rather have gotten 2 denon's since they quite frankly blow the pioneers away in terms of features, but at the end of the day you have to have pioneers since thats what is "the standard" - just like with technics and turntables.

The pioneers are very simple to use though, very little chance of a fuck up happening, wheras with the denon, you have a very HIGH chance of selecting the wrong thing and messing everything up, hehe! :)
