brand new mk3 1210s.anyone own any new ones?i dont like em! Just got sum bout a month ago, iv been on em once, they are so sloppy, i used to be good on my old decks, now these are too new, and i cant get used to em, im so upset.....i feel i have to start from scratch again, and every dj knows how FUKIN annoying and stressfull that iz. Ive tried leavibg then running for 3 hours every 2 days tro wear em in, but i fink i still got a long way to go!!! Any on eelse feel like this about new dex, esp. mk3s....they are sloppy!
Hmmm.... the Mk3s are (supposedly) an improved evrsion of the 1210 Mk2, which would make them the best turntable available. Or would it? Technics are currently up to Mk5, with both the Mk4 and 5 only being available in Asia. Both the Mk4 and Mk5, as well as the Mk3 use the same motor as the Mk2, and just add a few extra gimmicky features. 1210s will always take getting used to, especially if your old decks were belt-driven. Just keep at it, and you'll get used to them in good time. Another thing that may help, is that when you're mixing, to make minor adjustments to the pitch speed, rather than touching the platter which you probably did with your old decks, use the pitch slider, DO NOT touch the platter. This is usually a common problem with people that have recently upgraded to 1210s, with the difference in torque being considerably greater than their older decks.
i find it also a bit difficult to get used to direct driven dex... when i used fizz n ness's @ TO hq.. it was a battle with the torque! using the pitch rather than platter to do minor changes is right and take s alot of gettin used to.. keep at it kid.. or i'll do u a swap
I don't know if you were using beltdrive before but if you were then you should expect to have to totally re-learn how to mix well. It's just very different. If you were using 12xx technics then maybe your old ones were broken/on their way out, how does the performance differ?
how are they 'sloppy'? they will just be different from your old decks. they are much better when u get used to em. its better that u were using the pitch rather than the platter for minor changes.....the less u play with the record the better IMO.
