    Boro fans

Complete and utter joke, how can they only be getting 29,000 fans when they are 5th in the premiership ??? Sunderland attracted only 277 less fans when they took part in a Championship game at the weekend.

    lots of reasons...

loads of boro fans dont like mcclaren and/or were driven away under robson.

middlesbrough is a third world town... how many can afford to pay several hundered pounds for a season ticket, i cant afford to go anymore and im reasonably well off. ;)

stadium got increased to around 35,000 from 30,000 a few years back... the lack of success that followed is probably a reason why the fans havent always filled it... its only the past 2 seasons that we have actually become interesting to watch. look at the population of teesside aswell.

its not as if that many teams actually fill their stadium every game, newcastle and blunderlund are no exception. when the bigger clubs come along it fills, man city, despite their style of play, are not stadium fillers. i remember the riverside seeming full when we were in div 1 tho

    *yawn*

any gate over 25000 is good for a city of boro's size IMO.

We run at full for nearly every league game, some of the UEFA cup crowds haven't been good by Toon standards but they have been decent numbrs for this tournament.

He sold the Brazilian dwarf & he tends to play 2 blockers in the middle of park although Zenden has had a few games down the middle of late.

agreed... but he hasnt always convinced... this is the first season where we appear to be fullfilling league expectations. but he has took time to restructure the club which might not be something most fans see, but in the long run it could pay off.

as for calling us backwards... mackems have absolutely no right to take the piss out of anyone anywhere because the place is a dump and there are enough reprobates and village idiots living there  at least most teessiders will admit we live in a shithole and laff about it... you guys dont even know you are despised by everyone :D

selling juninho wasnt that big a deal... i liked him but things change. zenden moving into the centre has changed the way we play... we are far more enterprising.

as for toon filling the ground... i may be wrong but im sure there were complaints last season about poor attendances?

Our worst crowd for a league game last season was 50,104 V Fulham which was played on Monday night live on SKY & they brought a transit van full of fans.

The crowd of 29,000 was 6,000 off capacity, when city didnt bring many fans, and was like on sky on a monday night.....

why pay £30 to watch a game when you can spend that at the pub, get rat arsed see the game and also drink while watching it
