Reading Tommy cooper biography, most naturally funny comedian/magician theres ever been "sometimes i drink my whiskey neat, other times i take my tie off, and leave my shirt hanging out" "walked up to the ice cream van, wife asks what can i get you, i said a large cone please, she says hundreds & thousands?i said no, one will do very nicely" "I went to the doctors the other day and I said, 'have you got anything for wind' , so he gave me a kite" "Went to the paper shop - it had blown away"
Legend Tommy Cooper. Remember this one: ''I went to the doctors the other day & he said how can I help. I said 'Doctor, I feel like a moth'. He replied well why have you come here then. He said because the light was on.'' So basic but funny as fuck, I might get that book next actually
simple jokes but you've got to have a chuckle like! So I was in my car, and I was driving along, and my boss rang up, and he said, "You've been promoted". And I swerved. And then he rang up a second time and said "You've been promoted again". And I swerved again. He rang up a third time and said, "You're managing director". And I went into a tree. And a policeman came up and said, "What happened to you?" And I said, "I careered off the road".
Finally got round to reading the dark materials trilogy by Philip Pullman (Amber Spyglass etc). I know they're childrens books and everything, but they've been the first that I couldn't put down for a while. That guy has an incredible imagination.
aye deffo an awsome read like. never thought about the worm thing in that way before though... think i might have to go re-read.
