    Re: Blade Runner?

I think the 4 hour cut was just a rough assembly, don't think it ever surfaced.

Absolutely immense film like. From back in the day when everything you saw on screen was real and created in-camera. There's some unbelievable model work in that film, especially the flight over Hades sequence.

also, i loved how they used everything little thing they could find around the studios to make the sets EVEN old starwars models. Apprently lots are incorporated into buildings so you can really tell - BUT the Millenium Falcon is so recognisable you can't miss it - check out the clip , they float past it at around the 0:43 mark, stood on it's end but without the cockpit.

    EDIT : Geeky linky bit : http://media.bladezone.com/contents/film/tie-ins/star-wars/

it could have been so easy just to stick the standard orchestration on there but the vangelis stuff is awesome

    You watched it yet screech?

Aye I remember my mates Dad first told me about the Falcon model in the Hades shot when I was younger as he knew I was a Star Wars Geek. I didn't believe him til he got out his trustly VHS and proved me wrong.

Aye the Vangelis soundtrack is awesome.

"I’ve seen things you people wouldn’t believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion.

I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.

All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain."

Is my favourite line in the history of cinema. Ever.

Especially the last line. Fucking awesome. I could write pages and pages disecting it.
