it should come with instructions. you'll need a blank floppy i think too, depending on how it works. Basically you should have downloaded an .EXE file i think. Were there any instructions on the website?

it should create a floppy u can boot to, you then run the utility, in DOS mode and it'll usually back up the BIOS setting first (so u can revert back to them if needed) then flash it with the new update. You've GOTTA get it right mate, if it fails during the flash process you could scrag your BIOS and it's new motherboard time.

I'd create a boot disk, copy whatever you've got onto it. There should be detailed instructions on the website. Let me know where u got if u want Pete, i'll have a look around for some destructions.

yeah there were instructions on the website...but in german, what i can tell from it is they want me to 'sys' a floppy disk and boot it with that and run the awdflash.exe file, but im on win2000 and it doesnt let u create a boot disk like that...should i see if i can find an old win98 boot disk? and try it that way

the problem has started cos i have some new memory for the PC and when i have installed it, the BIOS takes it fine but when the pc boots its stops and says that the BIOS does not support ACPI and i should update my BIOS

not sure if w2k will let you do it, try this; go to a DOS prompt and type FORMAT A: /S that should format a disk then copy the system files onto it - i know it works with previous versions of Windows. Otherwise yes, a Win98 boot disk will do the job, as long as there's enough room on the disk to fit the .EXE

Then easy, boot to that disk and run the exe - follow on screen prompts.

ermm... if it gooses your BIOS - you imagined i replied to this thread.
