    Best way to record live sets?

    Looking for some advice on the best way to record a live set. Don't want to bring a laptop out with me, so can I use an MP3 player? (don't have one, so not sure of the capabilities). The quality needs to be first class. Wouldn't need anymore than 2 - 3 hours recording time.
    Thanks in advance
    :)

    You could always try a minidisc or an iriver.

    Most minidiscs are easier to use as many of them have a small EQ display that allows you to work out how loud the music feed is.

    Some of the irivers have a line in that allow you to record straight to MP3. You can pick em up on ebay pretty cheap now.

    IF you have an ipod and want to record to it:

    [ame="http://www.amazon.co.uk/Belkin-iPOD-TUNETALK-STEREO-BLACK/dp/B000IZTCQA/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1214245075&sr=1-6"]Belkin iPOD 5G TUNETALK STEREO * BLACK: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics & Photo@@AMEPARAM@@http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/41S3Obfeu7L.@@AMEPARAM@@41S3Obfeu7L[/ame]

    The mic isn't the greates but it has a line in which works very well for plugging into mixer

    You need an apple mac and an ipod mate

    Only ipods will do it.

    I've got a Sony MP3 recorder type jobbie - plugs straight into the line out and records straight to 192kps - can record 18 hours or something, it's only 2gb - it's class
