If you look around you can find some places selling off 6800GTs for about £150/£160..

OCUK do a 6800GS for £190.. a bit more than your budget but worth every penny.

They also have a X800XL goin for £177.. its a prett good card.

Also (completely not what ur asking about but still a bargain..) they have a WD 320GB HDD (3rd from bottom) for £88.. thats a fucking steal!

    Hope this helps :)

Get yourself an X800. Amazing cards!!

If you can get the X800 Pro (Musty be VIVO) you can flash the BIOS to unlock an extra 4 pipes...and you can clock it up beyond belief!!

    Mine goes like this......

    WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSH

Stick with Nvidia m8.. the ATI catalyst drivers are terrible IMO.. plus the 512 7800GTX is a better card by a mile.
The 1800xt is a newer card but ati had major issues developing it.

If your gonna get a CPU then go for an opteron 144/146 if your ok with overclocking. Stock speeds are 1.8Ghz but these chips have been known to hit upwards of 2.8Ghz on air.

Thats faster than a £750 fx-57 and for only a bit more than £100!
    You'll need decent ram though.

If your not too happy bout over clocking then try and get a san diego core 939 chip such as a 3700. These chips have a better memory controller and run SSE3 Instruction sets, and therefore run more efficiently and disperse less heat.

For motherboards.. go for an SLI compatible NF4 board.. I know the DFI boards are meant to be cracking.

If you wanna stick with your current card so you can save a bit more cash after buying a cpu and mb then get the Asrock Dual 939 board.. it offers both AGP and PCI-e slots running on a process known as ULI.
It offers support for SATA 2 HDDs and all 939 based CPUs.
    Its a canny overclocker too.

Oh and it offers an expansion card on which it will be possible to upgrade to socket M cpus, whi9ch will be released in the summer.
    All for ~ £46.

Personally at the end of Jan I'm picking up the asrock board, a 393 146, a massive HSF and 2GB corsair XMS platinum 2.
Oh and 2 250GB Hitachi Deskstars.
Then for the raptor drives :)

I know that Asrock are shite.. the netto of motherboard brands. But even Custom PC rated this board at 88%..
