Probably one of our better players, to be fair. He's come on leaps and bounds in recent seasons. I'd be gutted if he left. Not sure he's worth his wages doubling tho. Im a tight bastard tho. :p

Bernard has always looked quality when i have seen him, but he never looks quiet as effective when Robert is not playing infront of him.

bernard is quality, probably my player of the year last season. He gets stuck in, good going forward and gives his all in every game. hes definalty worth keeping, and theres not many decent left backs around to replace him

give him whatever he wants...he was amazing last season and although he hasn't been as good so far this one, i'm sure once he gets his contract sorted out his form will return!

i can't think of many left backs we can realistically hope to replace him with if he does go:(

He is a good player but its a bit rude how public this has become, he talks too much.

I could see him going to one of the BIG THREE if he goes on a free

Boro don't need him. Neither do Arsenal. Chelsea might though.

People seem to forget that he didnt actually want to be here when the club stepped in and stopped him from going to West Ham when his original contract was up, this was sharp forgotten by his displays on the pitch tho !

At the mo he is one of our best defenders, to be fair that doesnt take much but even with someone like Woodgate here he still would be !

Im sick of reading about this contract n that contract, if he isnt happy with it then stop going to the fucking papers - its just a ploy of wrangling more coin out the club !

Instead he should go see them himself and sort it out, not in ever tablod going

He's not in the top 10 earners at St James, I think he has every right to ask for more money.

True - but repeatedly going to the papers about it? This is easily the 5th time I've seen a new story about Bernard and his sodding contract. It's getting beyond a joke now.

I like and rate Bernard but if he's going to be a fanny about it he can piss off, the offers are there and it's up to him to discuss PRIVATELY with the club any problems he has.

He would be another major loss, it takes years to replace quality like that.
