Bellamy - BBC Site Souness rules out Bellamy return Newcastle await Bellamy offers Feature: Temperamental talent Graeme Souness has told Craig Bellamy he has no future at St James' Park while he is Newcastle manager. The 25-year-old striker accused Souness of lying over his exclusion at Arsenal. The Welshman has been left out of the squad to face Coventry in the FA Cup fourth round and both Portsmouth and Norwich have failed with loan bids. "He can't play for me ever again," Souness told BBC Radio Newcastle. "He can't go on television and accuse me of telling lies." Portsmouth and Norwich have failed in bids to take the Wales international on loan until the end of the season. Norwich manager Nigel Worthington said: "I'd love to get him here. "He's a quality player, there's no question about that. It's just a case of giving him the right kind of environment where he's happy." Worthington added: "I know he'd be very, very well received here, and rightly so. He did a magnificent job for Norwich in what were difficult times for the football club." He'll either be a Newcastle United player and stay there or there will be a sizeable transfer fee paid Nigel Worthington But with the transfer window closing on Monday, Worthington feels he has little chance of landing Bellamy. "I think it's highly unlikely Newcastle will go down that loan road," added Worthington. "He'll either be a Newcastle United player and stay there or there will be a sizeable transfer fee paid and he'll get a permanent move somewhere." Bellamy was fined two weeks' wages but the Wales international striker was not placed on the transfer list. However, chairman Freddy Shepherd described his behaviour as "totally unacceptable and totally unprofessional". Bellamy started his career at Carrow Road, scoring 34 goals in 91 appearances over four seasons before moving to Coventry in the summer of 2000 and then onto the Magpies.
And my opinion seen as i havent said alot on this I think Souness should go - why you ask ?!?! Isnt it funny how at every club he's been to he's fallen out with players, he then trys to turn the fans onto the player which generally tends to work and sooner rather than later there's uproar. Bellamy i admit shouldnt of went onto Sky that day, he should of left it at that and got on with his job - it probs wouldnt of been half as bad then - one things for sure tho Kieron Dyer will be thanking his lucky stars that CB has now well and truly stole the limelight / boo boys I have never seen Newcastle in so much termoil since supporting them, Souness should walk now cos were now getting rid of one of our best players with fuck all replacments even mentioned and the possibilty of "The Tin Man" (Kluivert as he has nee heart) and Shola "Am A Nobody" leading the line - fucking great eh It gets better at the end of the season when Big Al retires. The joys of Newcastle United BTW > Robson was slated for being a shit manager and its funny how since he's left were fucking no better off with a new man in ?!?!
There is always a bright side mate you could of been through what the Sunderland fans have been through in the last ten years or so it seems to me like Souness is undoing all the hard work Robson had done to stabalise the club after the Gullit/Daglish debarcle
No matter who is in charge Bellamy should not be aloud to get away with this, I just wish Bobby had took this stance with Dyer then this might not have happened as the players would know what was to come if you step out of line  My worry is it looks like next season we will be stuck with Shola as our only striker !!! I would not loan Bellers out either, would only sell him or stick him in reserves
Because Morillo has got off scot free time and time again its a path for all players too now. Shepherds too fucking soft and should of come down like a ton of bricks on them all BUT not sold them. The saga continues anyways.
Its sounesses fault the whole bellamy thing happened... Yes bellamy is gobby but he was never a major problem untill souness came along... unlike Dyer and Co Bellamy seems to LOVE newcastle united and the fans and he wants to play and WIN we need more players with the kind of fire in his belly that he has..... Souness cant handle players at all heis a discrace to NUFC and needs to go NOW
If he loves the club why didnt he just get on with playing for it instead of doing this, and why could he not just apologise to the rest of squad for prentending to be injured. He was right Souness lied about him being injured on sunday to protect him from all this coming out but Belleamy being a big mouth that he is blew up, Even his agent told him not to do that inteview FFS He is a 100%'er and will be missed but he even told Boumsong & Babayoro that this was a shit club with a shit manager so much for loving the place. I dont like Souness but Bellamy is the one in wrong here
That was blown up, it was just a sarky comment we all make them... I know BEllamy is not in the right but telling him he can never play again is not gonna do the club anygood, next season with no Bellamy, Kluivert or shearer we are gonna have to have Bambioni up front by himself
Nobody is saying Bellamy is in the right. BUT Souness came in, with a preconcieved idea that he wanted Bellamy out. They had a copule of smaller spats. That didnt work. SO Souness pushed him, and pushed him, and pushed him. Until the gobby Welshman finally snapped. Imagine playing out of poition 15-20 times, then seeing Shola Ameobi being played in your position just to really rub it in. When Bellamy finally snapped, he was only telling Souness what every Newcastle fan had been saying for months! He was frustrated Souness was not doing the best for the team. His pleas were not being listened to, and he did something stupid. But really our 'manager' drove him to it. Souness cant handle players. He doesnt understand that everyone is different and just sometimes you need to be a bid cleverer in the way you treat them. Man-management is a big part of the job at this level. Souness doesnt have it.
I will also add two quotes i have read today. Milan Mandaric "I really like him as a player; I am fond of him; I like his temper on the field." "I think a manager could handle him off the field that's what managers are for. Neil Warnock "We all have problem players. Some of them can't take a drink when they go out and get into trouble, some of them get into trouble with women - it's all sorts." "We have to handle those situations. That's what a manager's job is - it's like having 25 children to look after and they've all got different attributes."
