Only one winner there, although I aint used the Behringer mixer, the DJM 800 is the stuff made of dreams best bit of kit I've ever bought.

pioneer is the better option - however,do u need all the fx and the midi and all the extra inputs compared to a djm600 which is what, just over 500. perfect for in the hoooooose

    thou if your after a mixer - try a tascam x9 - i have 1 for sale

Pioneer hands down, and the 800 is so much nicer to use than the 600... worth it i reckon!

behringer have made their name by taking the designs of other people and copying/replication them.

some of the behringer gear (their compressors and crossover units) are pretty good, however their mixers don't fall into this category.

They are usually poorly built and badly implemented (the effects usually sound tacky too).

You're better off buying a known brand, even if it's a basic model. From what I've seen, even the numark and gemini mixers seem to be better than the behringer stuff. Avoid :)

its like having a moble phone with all the fancy stuff u never use, pointless unless u use it all .

just ask dave melt/powertool,his moble is from 1999 that doesnt do pictures and only has battery life of 1hr,but its serves its purpose:lol:

Agreed, think of the 800 as the real McCoy and the Behringer as something which you would barter with a lucky lucky man for. I give good price!

£1100 for bedroom use? total overkill unless you're using ALL it's features

exactly my point , but if you pay cheap you pay twice so stay clear of the 'copy' mixers

a cheaper alternative to a djm800 is a mixer i have for sale, thou it doesnt have the midi input but was indeed the first digital mixer and cost the same as a djm800

this is what i have,400 takes it any1????

The CFX on the 800 is just outstanding I think, could never get bored of it although I am struggling on how to use the Harmonic effect correctly. REV ROLL, ROLL, PHASER, REV DELAY are all quality too. I just love the more 'sturdy' it seems compared to the 600.

i detest this 'fx' generation . if you need to use fx's to look good at dj'n rather than playing good music then be off with you:lol:

haha I do not use them to the extent of 'look at me' but there great to play around with, You could be the ultimate package & play good music & use the effects, then you'd look twice as good haha

effects are one of those "easy to use, tough to master" things.

Anyone can flange a track or kick out a delay, but it takes a decent DJ to know when (and how) to use it

I agree that if I had to settle inbetween I'd go for the 600. But paying £630 or whatever it is & if I'd had the chance of using a 800 I would wait a couple of weeks & stick the extra. There going on eBay for 800-900 all the time so if you shop about you can get a bargain. (aye thats right everybody listen to the lad who paid £1200 for a £1100 mixer, haha)

i have the behringer and had no problems with it, the fx are miles better then the older one, as u can choose if u want the bass or mid or treble on the fx. it only takes few minutes of messing around with.

honestly if its just for the house go for the behringer but get the insurance (most places do the free 3 years)

Ive never used it with MIDI but on with the FX again, ive used it with the EFX1000 its a lot of fun.. Im sure Zabiela has done a set where he only used an EFX and 1 CDJ, the radgey

EDIT: Best mixer ive ever used for MIDI control is the Korg Zero 8, its a hefty price but its the absolute nuts, plus built in firewire, soundcard and touch screen kaoss pad!!
