Price of paper 60p value of sarnie £2.29. Total saving £1.69, potential total saving £10.14 Sky TV. I have SKY + multi room subscription. I contacted them & gave them the old line of cant afford it but I watch everything & use the 2nd box. They offered to credit my account with £20, I said no. So they have knocked down my 2nd card subscription from £10 to £5 for 6 months. Total saving £35. Of course I am going after my £20 near Xmas time giving a potential saving of £55. Yeats - My after work boozer. It seems I am too late with this post to tell you about the delights of owning a Barry Card BUT you can get 2 pints of Beck Vier for 1. You have to go to http://www.weareyates.co.uk/home/account/register . Total saving £2.70 Setanta - Can the Setanta workers who use this site let me (and others) know what deals are being offered to us folk struggling with the crunch.
Its piss easy to feed yourself for next to nowt on stuff most people shun ... lentils, beans, vegetarian food, mince etc etc. Alcohol, nights out and all that gumph are discretionary spending - Its easy to just eliminate all of that and pick and choose what you spend your cash on ..... You can watch nearly any movie for free if you know where to download it, or watch footie for free LIVE usin the same methods. Clothes and stuff can all be bought on ebay or online for alot less than in the shops. Likewise, all big purchases of things can be bought second hand or nearly brand spanking new from people who would rather have rid of them. People are getting rid of things for HALF (or less) what they would have sold for (pricey watches, cars, electrical goods) not so long ago - Just keep an eye on ebay for things with cash ready and waiting. I guess the trick is just doing the opposite of what you'd normally expect to do when you spend money, and find ways of getting the exact same thing but for less money. In this climate - Everyone is looking to do a deal on something. I went into a florists at the quayside recently to get my mum some flowers ... I asked how much the flowers were, and then the vase ... then asked 'so how much are you going to give me off if i get them together' with a smile. I got about 10% off there and then and saved myself a tenner odd just for asking politely and not sounding like i was definately going to buy the stuff regardless ... They make the sale and i get a discount, everyone happy. I think its possible to live on next to nothing if your canny about it.
