I love the place, incredible city.. On our last day there my mates flights went off in the morning so I had the whole day to wander around, pretty much anywhere is walkable so where you stay is pretty irrelevant, it's a piece of piss to get about in.. we stayed in the red light district just of the ramblas for that extra bit of 'urbanity' if you go clubbing, go to razmataz, as far as clubs go it's like nothing you've ever seen..
my thoughts exactly, hoping to convince my lass to move there in a coupel of years one of my favourite bits of Barcelona is the little square just off Las Ramblas on the right hand side as you are walking down it (turn right at the first Pharmacy sign that you see)
Totally mate, I want to live either there or Berlin at some point in my life. Yeah, all the back alleys and little squares off the right hand sight of Las Ramblas are where all the good bars and shops are. The city has everything- culture, sights, the sea, the beach, the mountains...
we alwasy stay in Hotel Colon or Gotico, both pretty good, and in a good position in bwtween Las Ramblas and the other side (cant remember the name, but its much better). My mates always sty near the beach which is pretty sweet.
