Backlash Sir Bobby Robson put his foot in it when he rounded on fans who booed his Newcastle United players off the pitch. He didn't realise the cameras were still rolling after he gave a TV interview and condemned the supporters. His blunder came after United's draw with Wolves yesterday as he gave a post-match interview which was transmitted to TV screens in some parts of St James' Park. After the formal interview was over Sir Bobby didn't realise the cameras were turned from front still live and hit out at the reaction of the crowd. Today, Sir Bobby refused to discuss the situation, but it's understood club officials are examining the tape. Word is: he was waffling on about how the Yorkshire muppets celebrated there relegation & how Newcastle fans booed a team that CAN STILL QUALIFY FOR CHAMPS LEAGUE. Many swear words were used in this interview.
Re: Re: Backlash YOU LOT ARE MUPPETS!!! Smithy has yous all fooled he will get in his car & drive across the M62 & sign for Man Utd. Is that called doing a Rio or a Cantona?
Re: Backlash I saw the "interview". He said something like "Leeds got relegated yesterday and there was 36,000 people stayed to give them a heros reception. We are still in with a chance of the Champions League and people are booing and walking out. People forget where we were 4 years ago sometimes etc etc" Then he composed himself and went on to the SKy interview.
Re: Re: Backlash SPOT ON as well!!!!!!!! I wud be pissed off - your fans were a DISCRACE at the weekend....fact. Nowt to do with rivalry here either lads - its shitty whichever way u look at it
Re: Re: Re: Backlash i totally agree...fair enuf we played shite but we cans still qualify for europe what gud is booing us gona do...im sure thats gona give us loads of confidence
Re: Re: Re: Backlash i personally think the fans had a point...they pay a lot of money to watch these ppl play footy every week... some of the players r on £35 k + per week thats more than what most geordies earn in 2 years... why should the fans not voice their oppinions to a bunch of over paid twats that aren't doing their job right? these are alleadgedy world class players who are playing like a sunday league side...
Re: Re: Re: Re: Backlash if i was laurent robert & thats the sort of treatment he's received for being a lazy fuck wit then i'd buck up my idea's & start making myself worth the wage i'm being paid... the fans help pay his wage so why shouldn't they tell him when he's shit?
Re: Re: Re: Re: Backlash Exactly. They was fuck all disgraceful about it. What exactly was disgraceful? Its no good putting rose tinted glasses on and pretending everything is fine. If you're going to do that then we'll end up where Leeds are now. As supporters of the club, you are entitled to let the management know how you feel. Its the only way they are going to find out what the fans think. People who say you should never boo a black and white shirt are deluded.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Backlash with decent fans you mean? spence - he hasn't got me fooled i'm well aware viduka will be a much bigger loss than robinson or smith. personally i thought we should have sold robinson instead of martyn last season - he would probably have stayed in the first division lee - yes your right to say something if everythings not right but dont u think booing viana ON to the pitch was a bit harsh, or is he really that crap (just wondering)
it was a 'carnival atmosphere' at elland road apparently... ahh well. atleast i'll have something to wind Pike up about when leeds stuff the mackems next season.
Re: Re: Re: Backlash Sleepy remember last season when you & Nat tried to leave the Sunderland V Charlton game early? NO? Hope this report helps: Sunderland had just scored their third own-goal of the first half and the common reaction was an understandable one. There is only so much embarrassment a fan can take. However, the gates were locked at the Stadium of Light; not even Elvis could have left the building. So punters bought pints desperately, confronted each other angrily or just stared apathetically at the racing on the screens above. One showed the betting from the 3.35 at Southwell, in which there was - of course there was - a horse named Pants. A man named Reid trains it.
i cant believe u lot who say that we shouldnt be booing the team, not all of u have to go and watch that week in week out, i thought they were absolutely crap on sunday, they have been like this all season, we have a right to let them know how we feel, but the reason we did boo them on sunday is not because of where we are in the league, coz yes we do have a chance of champions league, its the way they played, there was absolutely no commitment or passion there on sunday, nor has there been all season, its as if they dont even want to play for newcastle, thats why our supporters did what they did and the players deserve every bit of it
to be honest, only bowyer played well on sunday mind u given, shearer and speedo have played well most of the season, but have u noticed how they are the three senior players in the team, i think all this fame has gone to the young players heads, pre-madona's, thats all i can say for them this club needs to seriously look at itself and work out what they want to do
