    AVI files and picture lags...

I ve got DIVX player on my pc, but when i go to watch an AVI file, from a cd, or hard drive, the sound is fine, but the picture lags chronically, so after 5 mins of the film, its unwatchable due to the lack of correspondance between what Im watching and what im hearing...

is it that my pc (600mhz) is too slow, or can the problem be easily fixed?

If it does end up bein a player problem then I whole heartedly recommend using vlc player..

    Link here

This player will play anythin.. includin source directly from vobs, bins and even temp files from programs such as emule or other p2p apps..

Theres also no need to install codecs.. I can't remember the last time I installed one.. I think it automatically downloads them for ya..

Its the best like... by a long shot..

*edit* curiously.. how fast is your cd drive and how much ram ya got?*

I recommend VLC as well, especially cos it plays things well on your processor speed - 600mhz is a bit too slow for the newer divX codecs.

The stuttering can also be cause by your soundcards drivers as well - make sure they're up to date. If you still have problems, copy the avi file to your hard-drive to watch it, and see if that helps.
