    AVG - Free Edition Again....

I have asked this before like but with no solution found :(

When i install it it works fine, i normally do a virus check every day actually with the amount of stuff i download

Anyways, when i go to update my Ipod or install summit from disk when AVG is on the PC the drives are disabled, basically no CD's are read and no ports work :(

I then have to un-install AVG as its that which it seems disables them and then go from there.

Then when whatever i have to install is done i then have to re-isntall AVG n get everything working ok.

I know it's not normal, i also used to think it was Sygate causing the problem but when i left that on and AVG off i realised what it was :)

Does anyone have any ideas why AVG disables me USB Ports and my CD Drives when it's on the PC ??

    Cheers :)

    Good to meet you too...

Simply due to the lack of independent testing associated with that AV package, and the fact that it was aquired from a company called Freedom which have not had their products tested by major online testing firms.

I would rather stick with tried and tested solutions I know work rather than risk a product I haven't seen evaluated.

Divent get huffy man  ;)

Where did you get this info from?
This product was in testing for a long time and the launch date was delayed a few times so the tests could be finished and any tweaks could be made :)

Ill not but ya need more than one word for an answer mate!

The product as far as I know uses an engine by a company called Freedom that has not been tested by online firms such as av-test.org, nor has it been tested in it's current configuration by independents either.

I'm always open for new products but I'd want to know more about them before I used them. Got any test results for the product?

Oh, take it you work for Telewest then ;)
