Fuck me what a club!

went on saturday night to see Picotto and i was blown away by this venue as well as mauro the best ive seen him probably!!

For those who havent been you need to go!
its situated under the railway lines in glasgow. its all huge arches inside made of all the old brick work. a few different bars in there too so if its a bit much i the main arch you can chill in the front bit like a kinda huge foyer/bar area. then theres the little arch which was bangin out the sounds of alan belshaw! and some other people

in the main arch was where the filterheadz started the night off in just the right manner for mauro to come on at 12 then whip this club into a frenzy! ive never seen so many people go absolutely off it loving every minute of this mans set!! the place was packed out! chants of "here we" "here we" "here we fucking go!" launching from the crowd almost non stop all night!

its very hot in there too! sweating like a mule i was but who cares! its all part of the fun!

so if you aint been to the arches and love really dark underground clubs that are swaety and hot with an electric atmosphere then do not miss the arches!!!!!

Many thanks to steven and all the glasgow gals and guys for a top night out!!! unfortunately i loved it so much ill be back up to bother you's again sometime soon!!

Best venue I've been to as well mate.

Had some wild nights in there - Sasha in 97 being one of the best nights clubbing I've ever had.

Standing in the queue in the arches used to be as much of a laff as being in the club. Oh the banter !!

I seen Dave Clarke and Percy X there just after xmas. The club was in pitch darkness, well good venue. The jocks love the techno

It was an excellent night out. The club was as underground as they come, the owners seem to
have done as little as possible to the original structure but have added all the bits you need to
make a good a club. The crowd was a mixed bunch of folk but all had an equal goal to have FUN none of this lot were out assessing the night they just wanted to rock or have a good bit banter. I am no music expert so what the Filterheadz played sounded like dirty,twisted,dark stuff. Mauro
(or is that Mario! TAXI FOR SPENCE! ONE OF THOSE BIRMINGHAM 1'S WILL DO!) played hard stuff that wasn't stupid hard & wasn't cheese, he dropped some tunes into his set that I felt moved the clubs atmosphere onto another level.

The taxi driver from the club to Stephen's place was special!! In a world full of icons he really
was a legend of psychopathic proportions.

Stephens afterparty, sometimes you go to these back @ my place afterpartys & it takes you a
while before you get settled & are ready to branch out into conversations with new people, it
took about 30 seconds at this afterparty such was the friendliness of the people there. I was working the people circut in all 3 rooms but never really got to have a chat with the WEST MIDLANDS MAFIA. Really was a good place to chill,have a chat or two, a couple of bottles of beer & the odd drink of voddie.

TOP NIGHT!! CLUBLAND IN CRISIS, MY ARSE!!!

What time does the Arches close. Scotland seems worse for closing times than Newcastle

We went to a warehouse party in the red light district!!! was a bit strange!!

Glasgow is cool!

Yeah mate - Slam have made the Friday night at the arches there own.

Pressure is possibly the most popular night at the arches with I/O and Colours following dependant on DJ line ups and the time of year.

Similar tio Foundation mate - 3AM normally, 4AM every so often.

Just want to say thank you to everyone who made the effort to come up and im sure you were glad you did.


Yous are all welcome back up anytime and maybe you can get the chance to stay back at mine a bit longer as the last group of people didnt leave mine until 11 last nite.

BTW Inside Out is the busiest and best nite in The Arches closly followed by Pressure and Colours is just SHIT.

haha quality. that sounds more like it. defo be back up with lots of money to spend etc. bring lots of goodies with me too next time.

Pleased u'z all had a good night, wish I could have made it!

She is my mates girlfriend, Mauro is back up here in October so yous are all welcome back up then (And anytime for that matter) and i think its going to be a 5am finish that nite with Mauro playing a longer set than usual if you know what i mean.

I hope so too, i always have a good nite when im down your way and maybe you can get off your arse and get up to The Arches sometime aswell

that sounds good to me like. likewise tho if yous fancy a road trip down to newcastle i move into my new house in august which is massive and you's are all more than welcome and ill try and repay the hospitality.

We might take you up on your offer sometime but im just glad everybody went home (Except sleepyhead Kerry) with fond memories off the full nite and being back at mine.

i managed to mute myself for half the fucking night tho so missed half the crack
just sat listening most of the time

You missed me going over to the park across the road about 3pm with my stormtrooper helmet on and a pair of red and white stripey short that have a platic bum on the back of them.

There were people in the park at the time.
