Hi everyone, it's Arcane on Saturday (17th)


I've not had chance to post the full line up yet however i will do asap.

Its £10 with NUS card or £12 for all others. Doors open 9pmn -5am

Will it be full of knackers wearing free stuffed Guiness hats?

what gets played at this arcane like, i thought it was a sweaty emo night ?

well all 7 of the rooms are open with all playing host to different genres of "dance" music.

Upstiars is D'n'b, then theres an accoustic room in the cafe that is open all night, theres a jungle/reggae room downstairs, and electro room, breaks and hip hop style room then the main room is dirty house/electro type stuff.

theres light hearted pop in one of the bars and indie in another where food is aswell.

its pretty cool to be honest as if you get bored of one room you're bound to love another one.

ahhh right i thought it was all metal, emo, punk, indie etc....... didnt know they did d&b or owt electro housey. might have to get meself to this like

Yeh its a cool night. The christmas line up was cool , this one's a bit more randoom but no matter whos on its always a good night!!

it's only the 2nd longest running club night in newcastle after shindig - think this is it's 15th birthday.

Have always been meaning to go to Arcane but never actually sampled it yet, might have to get myself down this weekend. Whats the crowd like? Is it full of Newcastle Uni rahs?

No, barely, they cant hack it. If they do come they're only out till about 1. I've never thought it to be rah ish at all and I've been going for 2 years

it's best to get a ticket I think, you can pay on the door but its not advised, we had full capacity last time and had to turn people away.

it's no where near as good as last time for me but its always a mint night as the music tends to surprise me whens its people i don't know.

they've obviously blown the entire budget on darren emmerson - he ain't cheap

I'm pretty sure I hold the record for being at the most arcanes... (though dreddy gav might beat me just) think I've been to all but 3 since 1995

was where I took my first pill IIRC, walked into the techno room as I came up and the rest is history

I definately hold the record for being kicked off the speakers the most times at the most arcanes - they used to put in extra speakers in the main room that were perfect podium dancing size which I found way to tempting

i will return to arcane when they (a) reinstate the techno room or (b) let gav run a room again

Totally agree.

Its about time you got onto them to allow you to host a room gav.

Your the only night that actual regulary does something at the uni now and you still don't get asked to have a room.
