APR 15 : Hannah Holland When: Thursday 16th August East London’s notorious DJ/producer and Trailer Trash resident Hannah Holland is a self-confessed ‘bass junkie’. Her signature dirty, bass heavy, jackin electro, tech house, breaks sound – a diverse musical mix gathered while growing up in South London on a diet of jungle, nu school breaks, garage and riot girl! In 2001 the electro scene in London blew up and she heard artists like Felix Da Housecat, Vitalic and Miss Kitten, at clubs Bodyrockers and Nag Nag Nag. She started to mix and eventually showed her skills at warehouse and after hours parties in London’s clubbing mecca Shoreditch. In 2004 Hannah became resident at weekly cult electro night Trailer Trash, which has stamped its filthy mark over London’s underground club scene. Trailer Trash have hosted a series of infamous raves in venues such as a medieval prison, an ex transvestite brothel, a boat chugging up the Thames and disused Quick-Fit garage, as well as its weekly night in the heart of Shoreditch. There she perfected her distinct sound which the crowd know and love her for and has now brought to her own night Bastard Batty Bass, co-run with hot rock bitch Mama Shamone. She has gone on to DJ at some of London's leading nights, as well as playing throughout Europe, including Bugged Out @ The End, Together @ Turnmills, Playtime @ Egg and DTPM @ Fabric, Eyes Need Sugar @ Paris, as well as rocking huge festival crowds at Paredas de Coura, and has played alongside artists like 2 Many Djs, Erol Alkan, Claude Von Stroke, Damian Lazarus, Sinden, Etienne De Crecy, Touche and Tayo to name a few. This year sees Hannah releasing her first remix, of Spektrum’s Kinda New through Ministry Of Sound and working on more bass heavy material in the studio. The rest of 2007 are filled with gigs at the Isle Of White festival, Bugged Out tent @ Field day with Justice, We Love Space in Ibiza Exit festival and many more London and worldwide dates where she will be whipping up a storm on the dancefloor.
