APR 01 - Kissy Sell Out

What better way to Launch the show than with man of the moment himself, Mr Kissy Sell Out.

Kissy Sell Out emerged from the myspace generation of cool nerds and sonic visionaries engaged in a feverish revolt, a wholesale shredding of the musical and business rulebook, as they mix their influences into exhilarating results spreading the word online and beyond - a collision of art, ideas and energy unrivalled since the heyday of punk, taking in everything from Klaxons acid indie-disco through Justice's ultra-modern electro to the mangled sonic aggro of UK grime and straight ahead rock n roll.

He began DJing at the age of 13 in 1998, having turned from a Nirvana fan to a confused dance music fan overnight when he came across an acid house mix CD. "I started making my own music as a natural progression from DJing. Ive always been fascinated by the concept of remixing. Ive been playing the electric guitar since I was 11 and used to focus on improvisation techniques rather than reading sheets of music or learning chords."

Following a short stint in a mainstream electro pop band Kissy decided to go solo and explore new musical territories. "When I made my first honest piece of music under the Kissy Sell Out guise, which I felt proud of, I suddenly realised that I had quite literally sold out in previous productions to try and appeal to a wider audience while repressing my urge to make something so much dirtier, and so Kissy Sell Out was born!"

He has received support from DJs and producers such as Headman, Annie Mac, Tommie Sunshine, Simian Mobile Disco, The Loose Cannons, Boyz Noise, Digitalism, DJ Touché and Sinden to name but a few..

The first show will also see the unveiling of our latest offering in the Volume series. The fourth mix in the series will be played out in all it's glory for the first time tonight!

    Club Launch Party

To help celebrate the launch of the show, we are teaming up with the chaps down at Polaroid in Leeds to throw a bit of a party. It will take place on February 2nd (day after the first show) at Club Wire in Leeds. Performing on the night other than ourselves and the splendid Polaroid Residents will be no other than Gomma's finest, Headman

So, it promises to be quite a start for the show, Kissy will kick things off on the 1st and then the 2nd see's the party with Headman..

Hope you can tune in and/or come along to the Party in Leeds!
