I'm sure I heard that you need to give 3 days notice to the embassy or something??

The US Government require your passort details 3 days before your travel but its not 'offical' yet, just preffered, you can just fill in the form at the airport and on the plane or go to whichever airline you have booked withs website and you can do it there.

I imagine if you need a visa to work there or something for a period of over say, 3 months, then i guess you would

I herd all this embassy bollocks before I went to New York a few years back, I did fuck all. Got in & out nee probs.

Another tip is you don't always have to tip!!!! The books are full of shite, although if your in a club tipping early makes sure you get served quicker or free drinks later on.

I flew with Kuwait airways as you can imagine I was fast tracked through while some of the others passengers on the flight had "problems" at the customs desk

i've been several times and it's always been piss easy to get back in, with that many people coming and going to america - its going to be hard for them to regulate who get's in and who doesent.

...unless you tell them about your criminal record 3 month prior

My brother has been living in USA for over a year now and he got his visa in just a couple of hours at the US embassy in London.
